Title:  Jake's Adventures 'The Secret of the Shark Tooth Crab Claw Author: Melissa Perry Moraja | Publication Date: May 5, 2014 | Publisher: Melissa Productions

It’s school vacation and Jake heads to the beach with his family, ready to explore the ocean. But not before his parents review the 'rules'. But that’s the least of his worries.

When a surfer dude shares that a mysterious sea creature has been caught in a fishing net, Jake sets out to rescue it! But in order for Jake to do that he has to include his annoying brother and tattletaling sister in his secret plan.

Will Jake rescue the trapped sea creature? Will Jake’s younger twin siblings reveal his secret plan? Or will there be more 'rules' that put a damper on Jake’s Adventures?

This is a funny, modern-fantasy adventure children's chapter book targeted to children ages 6 - 12 years old. It's a fun read for both boys and girls.

About Jake Wunderkind and His Super Wunderkind Ability:

Jake is the oldest and smartest Wunderkind sibling. He can make any thingamajig out of anything. Wait till you find out what he conjured up in The Secret of the Shark Tooth Crab Claw. It was pretty genius! The only thing about being the oldest is that Jake is supposed to be the most responsible and follow all the rules. And boy, his parents love rules. Jake's superhuman Wunderkind ability is that he remembers everything he reads and sees; and he has a really weird connection with marine life and plants. When you read The Secret of the Shark Tooth Crab Claw, you'll understand what I mean.

About the Wunderkind Family Children's Chapter Book Collection:

The Wunderkind Family children's book series is a collection of humorous, fantasy stories, each told by one of the four whimsical Wunderkind sibling characters, about what it’s like growing up as a kid with extraordinary abilities in an unusual, yet charming family in the small town of Boring Brook. (Target age: 6 – 12 years old)

  8. I had issues with the way my daughter's Kindergarten teacher was teaching phonics. I explained to my daughter carefully that "d" was pronounced with only the sound and not, "Duh," which was a SOUND BLEND. Proudly, the next time the teacher was working with the children, sounding out letters, Alexis interrupted her to say, "My mommy says you say that like this," and she demonstrated," and not, "DUH! Cuz 'duh' is a sound blend." Needless to say, the teacher and I never became friends and I had to explain to Alexis that my teaching comments should remain at home and were not for public consumption.
