Book Review

Simply a delightful read! My 11 year old and I chuckled quite a bit throughout the story. The illustrations were entertaining as was the story. My daughter loves basketball, so was immediately anxious to read the story. And Miss Priss, one busy 10 year old girl, didn't disappoint her. Judy Phillips did an amazing job with keeping the reader engaged and the illustrations by Brenda Nichols complimented the story.

My daughter and I highly recommend this story. Miss Priss: On and Off the Court is packed with lots of humor and plenty of kid growing moments.

The Squishable Baby's Best of 2013 Homeschooling Picture and Children's Chapter Books

I am so honored that the Wunderkind Family children's chapter books were chosen by the Squishable Baby to be in their Best of 2013 Homeschooling Children's Picture and Chapter Book list for 2013! Lisa, the Squishable Baby mom, is a homeschool mom of three (two boys and one girl).  What I love about her is that she truly cares about the meaning of family and the importance of raising kids in a family environment. Something I believe in too!

In 2013, the Squishable Baby family read and reviewed many children's picture and chapter books by such talented authors and illustrators and has created a list of the best! (and, yes, I am SO excited that they selected mine! I feel like Christmas came again!) The books they selected were chosen based on at least one of the following criteria (many of them meet two or more)...
  • Great storytelling with an overall promising message of hope.
  • It presented factual information in a fun and unique way.
  • Excellent illustrations which engage and promote an interest in reading.
  • Provides excellent educational experiences in unique ways.
  • The books can be enjoyed again and again.
  • Fantastic writing.
  • The authors are overwhelming supporters of early childhood literacy.
  • Books that will enrich the lives of your children.
  • I am able to recommend the book to anyone, and they come back and tell me how much their children loved it.
I hope that you will take a moment to read about why she selected the Wunderkind Family children's chapter books and other such wonderfully written and illustrated children's books!

Madison Wunderkind is a sweet, honest girl, who always seems to find herself in trouble with the principal. But this time she's not alone. It all started three days earlier, when Sophia, the most popular fifth-grade girl at Gator Elementary, asked Madison to hang out and plan this year's talent show. Jake and the Fly June Book Giveaway

Jake and the Fly
Kids love adventures, especially ones with gooey slimy creatures!

This month I'm offering a FREE copy of Jake and the Fly, the first modern-fantasy children's chapter book in the Wunderkind Family series. The Wunderkind's are an extraordinary gifted family, and Jake, the oldest son, is the scifi-inventive genius. He can make a thingamijig out of anything. The only hang-up is all the rules he has to follow.

Join Jake Wunderkind on his next adventure!
Jake
In this story, Jake is doing what he loves to do best-exploring and playing outside. As he's picking up rocks, he discovers a dozen slimy gooey worms, captures them and then hides them in a secret place in his bedroom, so his twin brother and sister can’t free them. But when the worms transform into a dozen buzzing pesty flies, Jake's adventure begins. Find out if Jake rid’s his home from being invaded by the pesty flies, and if he’s able to rescue his dad from their beady stares?

Every child has daily adventures. And my son, Jake, is no stranger to them. His kid-like imagination and adventures inspired me to write and illustrate the first book in the Wunderkind Family series.

Hope You'll ENTER My First KidLit Book Giveaway May 13 - 19th!

I'm so excited to share that I am offering a FREE copy of The Tale of the Slimy Spitball (the first book in My Guardian Angel series)  in my first KidLit Book Giveway!

The Tale of the Slimy Spitball is the first book in the Madison and GA (My Guardian Angel) children's chapter book series. It's a funny, modern-fantasy children's chapter book that teaches children that they don't have to be perfect. Even Madison's guardian angel isn't. Every story will share at least one learning lesson such as bullying, friendship, and responsibility.
